Ten hearts, earned half at a time.
There are ten hearts. They fill half a heart at a time.
Earning#
A half heart arrives when all four needs have stayed above a good level for a long continuous stretch. If a need drops badly, the stretch restarts.
The standard rises as your hearts do. Keeping everything near full for a sustained period earns a bonus half heart.
Running also earns hearts. See Run.
Losing#
Half a heart is lost when two or more needs sit badly neglected for a long stretch.
Care given while your Jeli is staying with a friend counts on your record, good or bad. See Sending your Jeli to a friend.
What is shown#
Hearts are shown. The thresholds aren't, and nothing counts down to the next heart. A heart arrives with a notification.
What hearts do#
Affection raises fluency. A well-looked-after adult speaks more English than a neglected one of the same age. See Learning Jeli.
