Hatching your egg
The egg, the species roll, and how to hatch early.
Every Jeli starts as an egg. The egg sits in the habitat, rocks, and cracks as it gets closer to hatching. Left alone it hatches in its own time.
Species#
The species is set when the egg hatches and never changes. You can't choose it or influence it. See The ten species.
Hatching early#
Warm the egg on the phone shortens the wait. Every attempt shortens it, whether you win or lose, in proportion to how warm the egg got. Winning hatches it immediately.
Every attempt also makes the timing harder, and it stays harder. There's no limit on attempts.
What an egg can't do#
An egg has no needs and doesn't speak. It can't be fed, played with, or sent to a friend. The watch shows the egg and its cracks; the game is on the phone.
